Since ppl were saying that the plaync store had the option of prerelease pack and preordering GWEN, what does that mean in the ingame store?

It just says "Preorder" not prerelease, does that mean ppl who purchased in the ingame store preordered GWEN already, or do we still need to go back into the ingame store on Aug.31st to get the full expansion access key.

I could understand that calling the purchase a preorder would make it ezier for Anet to credit the $5 (to categorize purchase), but probably not everyone is going to buy GWEN in the ingame store, so Id still like a confirmation on it just in case please.

i think atm the current eye of the north pack is just for the weekend

The preorder purchase will not grant access to GW:EN, you will have to buy it from the ingame store separately when it is released. The cost of the preorder purchase does count towards GW:EN though.

And thats basically what Gaile said a while ago after everyone went bannanas over the bonus missions etc.

-Pre-ordering a game means you want to purchase the full game when it is released. It was stated that you would need to buy it separately when it is released, but Gaile used the term prerelease pack not preordering at that time.

I really just want to know specifics on this from Gaile again just so there's no further confusion. (but probably there will be. lol)

Sorry, I don't see the confusion.

- You got a code for the "pre-order". The code gives you everything the "pre-release" does.

- A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. "preorder" = "prerelease".

But, fine, don't take our word for it, wait for Gaile to confirm.

well the way i see it is that they are separate, BUT if you buy the prerelease in the online store the cost will be deducted from a future purchase of GW:EN. There is no limitation on the number of access keys for GW:EN that can eventually be produced, and since all that happens is the code is added and you instantly have access there is no need, and hence no actual, pre ordering in the classic use of the term. WHen you preorder an actual box from a shop, the shop wont have an infinite number, and if they run out youd have to wait for weeks whilst they ordered more, hence people want to secure their copy by preordering, for which the store would likely require a deposit. As I said this scenario does not apply to purchasing through the online store.

If you bought the pre release in the online store, you can only be charged that stated amount [£3.49] and must initiate a new transaction on the 31st August should you wish to obtain GW:EN via the online store. You do not have to do so, but if you choose to you will pay (the retail price-£3.49). If you chose instead to then buy from another retailer (or the other online store) you would pay the full price and if you had not preordered from your local high street gaming store risk failing to get the game.

Well that's my interpretation at least.

Well for a PRE-ORDER it's certainly doing exactly what the PRE-RELEASE pack is supposed to do.

It wasnt about the product, prerelease/preorder. etc.

I know what preordering means, I wanted to know if it was going to be implemented the same by Anet coming release date.

I really just wanted to know if Anet's "preordering" meant that ppl who ordered in the ingame store last night, wouldnt have to do anything after and would be setup on Aug.31st. (get auto CC charged 39.99 USD on that day? + auto input of full access key? ---since I am "preordering" GWEN)

To sum it up:

Even w/ preordering GWEN (as it officially states) Do we still need to go back in the ingame store on Aug.31st. and get the full game?

(Again, Never was about the product, it's about how are they handling it.)

well unless there was some kind of clear statement that you will be charged an additional $35 on or about 31st August, then it would be illegal to make that charge and hence one can assume that you will have to return to the online store at a later date to complete payment and aquire the full access key.

Unless you see some way of agreeing to the larger, future charge, then it won't be charged.

You buy the preorder/pre-release/whatever pack. Then, when GW:EN is released, you go back to the online store and purchase it, and they take the price of the preorder/pre-release/whatever pack off the final price.

Simple.

If you buy GWEN after pre-ordering it's $5 less in the online store. If you don't, no big deal, but you're out your $5. Same way it works in a real store. Not sure why they're doing it since they don't need to reserve games.... Shoulda just let us buy the whole game now and given the early access when the time comes.

Pre-ordering is supposed to give stores an idea how many games they should order, and guarantees you get yours on release day. Doing it for online orders when you don't get boxes or anything is kinda strange, but whatever.

They really should use better terms. Every time something for GW comes out the pre-order vs pre-release confuses the hell out of everyone.
